Finance 101: Understanding Financial Statements and Budgeting
Many board members come from industries or professions where knowledge of accounting is not a skill needed to perform their duties. Suddenly, they are elected as a board member of a nonprofit, responsible for establishing a budget and overseeing the financial success of the organization!
In these difficult economic times, knowledge and close management of a nonprofit’s finances is critical to current survival and future success. Donn Eurich teaches a 2.5 hour session on understanding budgets and financial statements. He teaches in understandable everyday terms to help the non-financial board member and staff person understand how to read and prepare a budget, understand a balance sheet and statement of operations, and use ratios to spot trends. Participants will actually prepare and analyze a working budget in this session.
This session is one of Donn’s most requested seminars. Take the mystery out of accounting and do it in a relaxed, casual easy-to-follow atmosphere.
For more information, or to schedule a session, please contact Donn directly or complete the Organizational Profile form on this site.
